The 2014 Notre Dame College Prep Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony was held on November 8, 2014 at the Rosewood Restaurant in Rosemont, Illinois. Eight alumni Dons were inducted in the Hall that evening. They are Charles Keenley '59, Dean Eitel '59, Timothy McGuire '68, Robert O'Keefe '69, Donald Banas '70 and Patrick Burke '79 and Peter Leddy '81. The event was attended by their families and friends, previous Hall of Honor recipients and NDCP faculty and staff.
The newest inductees join 83 other Dons who have been inducted into the Hall of Honor since 2007. Each Hall of Honor recipient receives a commemorative plaque and a copy of the plaque is installed on to the wall in the lobby of the school. After attending NDCP Dean attended St. Louis University and received his BS in Geography. He then earned a Masters of Public Administration from Roosevelt University and A PhD in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dean retired from US Army Corps of Engineers as a Senior Director (1998) and then retired as Assistant Director, School of Public Services, DePaul University (2010) and is a member of the NDCP Academic Strategic Planning Committee. He still enjoys teaching at the Universityof Illinois at Chicago, especially at the undergraduate level.
Chuck graduated from Loyola University with a BA, with Honors. He has owned various insurance agencies and is currently Vice President of Commercial Lines for the David Agency in Elmhurst.
Chuck resides in Downers Grove where he has been involved in the Indian Boundry YMCA and served on the Board of the Liquor Commission. He is co-founder of the Downers Grove Bicycle Club and currently serving on the NDCP Alumni Board. Chuck assists with the NDCP Golf Committee and the Dons on the Road Program.
Bob received his BA from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1963. Bob also played on the golf team. In 1969, Bob earned a BA in Portraiture and Cinema Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.
Bob has won numerous awards for his photography over the years. He served in the Army Military Intelligence in Asia and is a Vietnam decorated veteran. Bob is a Screen Actors Guild member and in 2009 he was in the movie "Public Enemies" where he played a photographer.
Bob is a member of the first four year graduating class at NDCP. He serves as the Historian for NDCP and is on the Alumni Governance Committee. He is also the curator of the newly organized Alumni Memorabilia Room at ND. Bob has been married to his wife Rose for 35 years and has 2 sons and 2 granddaughters.
Tim graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Over the next 20 years, Tim edited award winning campaigns and helped to bring Cutters international acclaim. Most recently Tim was one of the featured speakers at the NDCP Alumni Breakfast in 2014.
In 2014 Bob received the MVP Spirit Award for Compassion from Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Bob is an active member of the Alumni Association at NDCP.
Don grew up in Glenview and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school and then NDCP. He attended NDCP because two of his uncles were Holy Cross priests.
Don continued his education at the College of Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico and graduated in 1974 with a Major in Accounting and Business Management. In 1978 he moved to Southern California and began working in the Banking Industry.
Don retired in 2013. His interests are scuba diving, marathon distance bike riding and hand gliding. Don and Noreen live in Long beach and their family consists of two rescued retired racing greyhounds. In 2013, Don and Noreen established the Don Banas and Noreen Nishie Scholarship at NDCP.
Dr. Leddy’s success in driving business growth through the application of best-in-class, innovative Human Resource solutions has resulted in his leading several major employee and cultural transformation initiatives throughout his 28 year career. From 2005 to February 2014, Dr. Leddy served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Life Technologies, a biotechnology company. During his tenure at Life Technologies, Dr. Leddy developed a premier human resources function, aligning business strategy to business growth for 10,000 employees at over 80 sites worldwide. Prior to Life Technologies, Dr. Leddy held several senior management positions with Dell Incorporated, from 2000 to 2005, where he was responsible for leading global talent management and human resources for global operations. He has served as the Executive Vice President for Human Resources at Promus Hotel Corporation (Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn), implementing human resources strategies that drove operational excellence with 350 HR professionals in every level of the company. In addition, he has held a variety of executive and human resource positions at PepsiCo. Dr. Leddy currently serves on the board of directors of Pathway Genomics Corporation and NuVasive. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Creighton University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial/organizational psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
