About 100 people were treated to a great evening of wine, delicious food and friendship when Riggio's Restaurant in Niles sponsored a Fall Wine Crush on October 12, 2011. Wine experts were on hand to describe the wine styles and food pairings, explain the etiquette of wine tasting, and provide a wonderful educational opportunity to compare different styles of reds and whites, help the tasters both identify their favorites and help them discuss their favorites from a more informed viewpoint.

Riggio's Restaurant donated 100 percent of the proceeds to Notre Dame College Prep. One of the highlights of the evening was when the three raffle prizes were picked. The winner of prize number one was Jane O'Connor, grandmother of Daniel Thorrens '14 (dinner for 8 in your home by Executive Chef Trish Riggio and her staff); winner of prize number two (a case of featured wines) was Rose Pagliari, mother of John Pagliari '11; and winner of prize number three (dinner for four at Riggio's Restaurant) was won by Chris Bascom, mother of Matt Bascom '09 and NIck Bascom '11.
