Parents' Association 2015 - 2016
The Parents Association Board welcomes you to a new school year at Notre Dame College Prep. Parents are a vital part of the Notre Dame Community, and we hope you will join us and get involved.
The Parents’ Association is a great liaison between home and school, and all parents and guardians are automatically members. We encourage you to become an active member. We meet monthly, on Monday nights in the library. These meetings are the best place to find out, and keep up with what is going on at school. The meetings keep you informed about upcoming events and school issues. Several times throughout the year we bring in speakers to discuss important teen topics. Our meetings are a great way to meet other parents, and they’re fun!

My name is Eileen Wendel, and my husband Tony and I live in Mount Prospect. We have been members of St. Emily’s parish for 15 years. Our son, David, class of 2016, is a Hesburgh Scholar, NHS member and plays baseball, hockey, and golf for Notre Dame College Prep High School.
I am employed as Vice President & Business Team Leader for Smith Research, Inc., a market research firm, located in Deerfield. I have worked for Smith Research full-time for the last 15 years.
I am privileged to serve as President of NDCP Parent’s Association for the upcoming school year. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you, and encourage everyone to join us at our monthly meetings to support our goals to connect and communicate.
||Welcome parents and Notre Dame students! My name is Sandy Sweilem, mother of Joseph ‘18. I am thrilled to be serving as your Vice-President of Notre Dame’s Parents’ Association for the 2015-2016 school year. With my past professional and educational experiences as a former Assistant Principal / Dean of Students and teacher for the past 16 years, I feel I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working with students and parents. Currently, I own Eye Level (Skokie) learning and enrichment center where we teach students in small ratio settings critical thinking Math, Reading, and Writing concepts. Developing positive, long-lasting relationships with families along with teaching students of all grade levels are what I treasure and hold close dear to my heart. I have served as a PTO president of my children’s elementary school as well as being a member of the PTO of the junior high.
I encourage every parent/guardian to join us at our monthly meetings. Joining our Parents’ Association will not only allow you to find out what is going on in our school, it allows families to form deep, spiritual connections and long lasting friendships. Looking forward to meeting and seeing you there!
(Riley '16; Max '18)
||Welcome! My name is Amy McAndrew mother of Riley 2016 and Max 2018. I am excited about serving as the 2015-2016 Secretary for the Notre Dame Parents’ Association. Over the past several years, I have held various board positions and worked on several committees’ which has allowed me the opportunity to meet, get to know and work with parents whose families were a part of the same community as my family.
Although I did not grow up in the Windy City, I have called Chicago my home for the last 21 years. We live on the Northwest Side of Chicago. The boys attended St. Thecla for a short time and finished grade school at Onahan. I work as a Physical Therapy Assistant with the geriatric population at the Claremont in Buffalo Grove, IL.
The Parents Association has allowed me to stay in touch with current events at ND, meet wonderful parents, and listen to speakers from the ND staff as well as various professionals within our community. We invite you to join us as we enter another exciting year and to be a part of your son’s experience at Notre Dame.
