Philosophy of Education

In the spirit of Fr. Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, a Notre Dame College Prep education consists in the formation of the minds and hearts of young people. Such an education must promote the fulfillment of the whole person. We believe such an education is essential, since society has a great need for people of values who lead lives of scholarship and social responsibility. We further believe the quality of education is dependent on the quality of the people engaged in this purpose. Consequently, Notre Dame educators are people of faith who motivate, inspire, and lead the student in knowledge while fostering creativity. Finally, we believe this education can best take place within a Christ-centered community of faith, under the patronage of Mary.
