Plus One ProgramBeginning in mid-November, students of each class at Notre Dame College Prep gathered in the Chapel to hear about the Plus One Program. In short, they are all encouraged to invest $20.10 in Notre Dame’s Endowment Fund. If every freshman, sophomore, junior and senior participates, then we’ll quickly build to over $16,000.
Plus One is about each current Don joining together to help Notre Dame College Prep and geting into the good habit of giving back to ND now. Donations will be collected during advisory from now through December 11th. , so let the good habit of giving back to ND begin now. OBJECTIVE
An endowment-funding effort focused on engaging current students, with the intent to produce sustained lifetime giving as students transition to alumni.
OVERVIEW
The +1 Program is a sustained giving program designed to begin cultivating future donors at the student level. The program initiates giving at the class level, for example:
• Freshman (Class of 2012) give $20.12
• Sophomores (Class of 2011) give $20.11
• Juniors (Class of 2010) give $20.10
• Seniors (Class of 2009) give $20.09
Upon graduation from Notre Dame, alumni are asked to increase their gift “plus one” dollar annually. For example, one year after graduation, alumni from the Class of 2009 contribute $21.09 to Notre Dame, two years after graduation they contribute $22.09, and so on.
PROGRAM LAUNCH
The +1 Program will be introduced to students in Spring 2009 at class-based masses. After mass, the students will view the campaign video and receive further information about the campaign priorities. (Testimonials from alumni and/or current students may also be included.)
Following the presentation, each student will receive a pledge card to be returned to the Development Office by a pre-determined date. Class giving will be tracked in a common area of the school, and the class with the greatest participation will be rewarded for their efforts.
LONG-TERM IMPLEMENTATION
After launching at the student level, the +1 Program will be unveiled to the Alumni in an Annual Fund mailer in Fall 2009. Alumni will be encouraged to join the current students in their support of the endowment fund by contributing at the +1 level appropriate for their graduation year. (A chart will be included in the mailing to indicate giving levels.)
A similar mailing will be sent annually, with the overall objective being the sustainment of the +1 Program as an integral and exciting part of Notre Dame’s endowment-funding efforts.
