2022 Hall of Honor Inductees
William Starr '64 was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant (ROTC) in the US Army Reserve at graduation having served 2 years active duty including one year in the Republic of Vietnam. He was awarded Bronze Star medal & Army Commendation Medal then rejoined the Army Reserve in 1976. He married Mary Gleason in 1974 and has 3 children, Karen, Joseph and Michael and 5 grandchildren. He enjoyed success in sales most notably for Rand McNally – TDM of Skokie and was awarded “Best of the Best” trophy. Bill proudly arranged for Fr. Stroot to finally receive a Bronze Star Medal for serving in World War II. Bill was awarded the Circle of Excellence Award while working for Qwest Communications. As an Army Reservist, he was promoted to Captain, then Major and finally Lieutenant Colonel. He was activated by President Bill Clinton to serve in the US Army in Bosnia Herzegovina in January 1996 to assist in the rebuilding of war-torn Bosnia Herzegovina. He was awarded the highest non-combat achievement medal, the Joint Meritorious Service medal. He was reactivated in 1999 to assist in post war reconstruction in Albania and Kosovo. He finally retired from Telecommunications and started a new business…Stumped ? Inc.
Michael Marrese '73 worked for thirty one and a half years at Earth Friendly Products as the General Manager of the Addison Illinois. His background was in corporate facility in charge of all facility and manufacturing operations. In May 2018, he began a new career at Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, having served as the Director of Community Relations, along with overseeing business sponsorships and the NDCP Bus Service. In addition, he assists the Director of Facilities with the school’s summer initiative projects. He is also known as the ‘Voice of the Dons’, being the field announcer for football and basketball games. Prior to his NDCP involvement, he coached for 12 years in the Park Ridge Baseball softball league, and high school, 7 years at Resurrection High School and 9 years at Fenwick. He was on the Park Ridge Baseball/Softball Board of Directors for 20 years. He’s an active parishioner at St Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge, who is currently in charge of the Altar Server Program and assists with the Sunday mass collection. He was married for 44 years to his wife Kathy, who lost a heroic battle with cancer in September 2020. He’s an alumni parent to 2 Dons; Lou ’00 and Joe ‘02 and his daughter Diana is a 2005 alumnae of Resurrection HS.
Steven Jankowski '94 graduated 5th in the Class of 1994. He earned a Bachelor's in English at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Master's in Education at Michigan State University and an ESL certificate at The University of Notre Dame. Steve joined the NDCP community in 2001 in the English Department where he has served for the past 22 years as an English teacher and Varsity Tennis Coach. He’s received numerous awards such as the 2019 E.S.C.C. Coach of the Year Award winner, 2021 Rev. Joseph Stroot Award recipient and the 2022Outstanding Activity Advisor Award recipient.
Kevin Clancy '98 has been involved in the Notre Dame College Prep Basketball program since 2006, eleven years as an assistant with ten of those years under alum, Tom Les ‘71. He’s been the head coach of the NDCP basketball program for the past 6 years. He’s a proud member of the school’s 1997 Elite Eight Basketball team. He went on to played collegiate basketball at Loyola University Chicago as a team captain his senior year He earned a B.A. in Marketing in 2002 and MBA in Management in 2004 from Loyola Chicago. He worked eleven years with Defined Learning, a startup company that developed a K-12 curriculum software focused on STEM education and careers. Roles included both National Sales Manager and Vice-President of Sales and Development during that time in which the company grew to over twenty-five employees and created partnerships with over 450 school districts nationwide. He is currently employed with Flood Brothers Disposal in Business Development and Sales.
2019 Hall of Honor Inductees
John 'Don' O'Shea '59, U.S. Navy Inactive Reserve at the rank of Lt. Cmdr, JAG. Don is a retired Circuit Court Judge and law-yer by trade. Most of the last ten years of his twenty-six year judge-ship was served as the Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division of the Rock Island County Circuit Court (14th Judicial Circuit, Illinois).
Larry Raymond '62, in 2019 Larry celebrated 34 years having built systems that test thousands of devices ranging from aerospace and automotive controls to medical & consumer products. In addition, he coaches middle school students in physical science events and is an active supporter & participant of the Alumni Golf Outing.
Brendan Hagarty '71, for most of his police career he served as a Sergeant working in various roles in Patrol, Gangs/Tacticle and Saturation. He is an active alumnus who supports & participates in various school initiatives & events He re-tired from CPD in 2015 and currently works part-time at Wrigley Field working for Levy Food Service.
John Paluch '78, is a performer, teacher, and arranger who has worked in a variety of venues and in a wide range of styles. In a career spanning more than 40 years, John has worked with many musicians, singers, and performers in Boston, New York and Chicago. He was the former Music Director for the Reunion Jazz Orchestra - an NDCP Alumni organization.
John Draths '99, joined the Enrollment team in 2007 and current serves as Assistant Director of Enrollment. At any given time of the year, is also involved with countless other activities and programs around the school. He continues to coach, serving as Head Coach for sophomore basketball. He is a trusted mentor to many Dons and a dedicated advocate for ND.

Jim Ernst '67, Deacon Jim is currently on the executive board of the Des Plaines Ministerial Association, a member of the Des Plaines/Park Ridge Joint Community Response and Recovery Team; and he represents faith based organizations on the Maine West Community Relations Committee.
Tom Koziol '73- owner of City Reclamation, Inc. that operates as a packaging manufacturer for the paper recycling industry In Melrose Park, IL. *First Illinois coach to win National Championship" (Rozner article/Daily Herald). Tom coached 4 players who went on to play in the NHL
Tim Gilmore '74, In 1993 Tim was offered a position with an independent agency in Austin, TX named Capitol City Insurance and have just celebrated 25 years with them. In January 2019, Tim retired after 40 years in the insurance industry. He's an active member of the National Corvette Restorers Society I hold the position of judging chairman and with the help of General Motors Historical Records Division, I’m in charge of the validation of the paperwork and history of rare Corvettes to prevent forgery in the classic car marketplace
Joe Jummati '88, works as a Marketing Representative for Progressive Insurance. Over the years Joe has coached ND wrestling and football. He has served on the Notre Dame Alumni Board several years and was the Alumni Board President for 4 years. Joe is very gracious to be a Fr. Stroot Award recipient for his time, talent and dedication to NDCP.
Brian Murray '03 (posthumous) Brian was an attorney with Angelini, Mills, Woods & Ori Law where he represents individuals and families in personal injury and workers 'compensation lawsuit. Since 2014, he was an executive officer on the Notre Dame College Prep Alumni Association's Board of Directors. In 2017, he was elected president and served two years as President. Besides his time at NDCP, Brian earned his bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in 2007. Thereafter, he went to law school at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2010. After passing the bar in 2010, Brian has spent his entire career with the Angelini firm where he has amassed several million dollars in verdicts and settlement for his clients. Brian passed away October 3rd, 2018

Fred Angelini '76: Sales manager for Atlas Saw & Tool. Varsity cross country coach, varsity softball coach, and the moderator of the Men’s Club, at Resurrection College Prep. Fred is on the board of directors for the Park Ridge Baseball and Softball leagues. For 18 years he has been working the grills at home football games at Notre Dame College Prep.
Frank Frisch '59: US Navy veteran. Retired Communications Manager and Technical Support Manager with Illinois Bell Ameritech, and AT&T with 32 years’ service Attended Harley-Davidson University—Certified Harley-Davidson Motorcycle mechanic.
Skip Lawson '71: From 81 -90 he was worked for Peppers Waterbeds. Skip spent 17 years as a Medical Sales Representative for Henry Schein. In 2008 Skip joined the staff at ND in the Advancement Office. He currently serves as the Director of Business Relations for ND.
John 'Jack' Murray '61: President Novuscell Power from 2009 to present. Previously an Emerson Executive 1971-2009 and a Monsanto Engineer 1966-1971. Jack currently resides in Austin, TX with his wife, Margaret Foley Murray. They have seven children, two are foster children.

William Noland '60: In February 1973 he began full time with the Fire Department. Bill was a Lieutenant for 25 years.
Al Pacer '67: Senior Account Manager at A.M. Best. In the late 1970’s Al was involved in the formation of the ND Alumni Association and was instrumental in bringing the concept of the “Walk a Thon” to ND in 1981.
James Boylan '73: Notre Dame College Prep faculty member for over thirty years. Currently teaching social studies. He was prior Department Chair and Dean fo Students at Notre Dame High School/College Prep.
Daniel DeFranza '90: Dan was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Board of Trade. He earned a teaching certificate in 2012 and has been a social studies teacher at NDCP since 2012. He's an Assistant Varsity football coach at NDCP since 1994.
Michael Mannion '93: After graduating from ISU as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of Flight School at Fort Rucker, AL, he served in South Korea. He has served the majority of his career in Special Operations with duty descriptions ranging from Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, Operations Officer, to his current role of Battalion Commander. He deployed to combat locations numerous times and has over 20 years of service to the Nation.
Paul Tokarz '00: Paul joined the Hoopis Group in 2015 where he serves as Vice President. He is actively involved in the Make a Wish Foundation and is a Corporate Sponsor and Executive Board member at NDCP
