The sixtieth reunion is now history, and a great time reconnecting was had by all who attended.
Shay Boyle’s, Notre Dame College Prep President, response to a fellow classmate’s question came as a surprise to many of us. The annual tuition is more than $15,000 and about half of the students attending need some form of financial aid.
The commitment of the school to educate young men to be gentlemen of faith, scholarship and service still is the same as when we, the class of ’62, were students. From the stories in the class newsletter and told verbally at the reunion, the school met that commitment.
In considering what we as a class could do to commemorate our 60th reunion the committee settled on setting up an endowed scholarship so that future students had the opportunity to share our educational experience.
An endowed scholarship will require funding of $60,000. Through the efforts of the committee, we have currently attained $37,000 from more than twenty-five of our classmates with the majority donating $1,000 or more. This is a onetime ask and we hope all of you will prayerfully consider “digging deep” in support of this effort. While we have had contributions of $5,000, please contribute what you feel is appropriate.
Here are the options for contributing.
By check-make the check payable to: Notre Dame College Prep with Class of ’62 Scholarship on the memo line.

"We were seventeen and planning for the future, and then it happened. It was great to see those who were there at the beginning and know that the school that shaped us is still going strong." -Ray Neihengen
"For the past 15 years I’ve had the pleasure of talking to classmates from Hawaii to Brazil and in virtually every state, helping them tell their story of life after NDHS in our quarterly newsletters, and then having personal contact at the 50th and 60th reunions…it was rewarding to experience that “Once a Don, Always a Don.” Thank all of you for sharing your life’s journey …Remember we’re all just walking each other home! And a word to other Don classes…don’t wait until your 50th to start finding each other.
Pace e bene." -Jack Gerken
"A wonderful opportunity to renew acquaintances and look back over an important time in our lives. See you all in 2027 at our 65th!"- John Zei
